REVIEW:

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Isn’t this cover amazing? I had seen another Bookstagrammer post about this book and I INSTANTLY bought it, no questions asked. I didn’t even know what it was about! 😂 Love and Tacos? What more could you want?

A Romeo and Juliet retelling, I absolutely loved reading a love story filled with Mexican traditions. Even though it’s a retelling, they’re no tragic ending, which I loved.

Set in California, the story starts off with Julieta at the Día de los Muertos Celebration. Her family has a stand selling their food from their family Mexican restaurant at the celebration.

Ramon also comes from a Mexican restaurant background, only his restaurant is more mainstream. The family business is expanding and opening more locations. But not tonight. Tonight, he is a mysterious mariachi playing at the celebration.

When Julieta shares a kiss with a mystery man at the celebration, it feels like fireworks have gone off. Never would she have imagined her mystery man would be the new owner of the building her restaurant is in and her new landlord.

Hostility takes over as it comes out that their families have more of a background together than just a new building ownership.

The enemies to lover's trope were on fire with this novel!! I loved reading about these two, mixed in with some of my own Mexican culture and things I have experienced. It made me feel so special and seen to be in this world with them.

Julieta has so much passion that I truly loved and appreciated. Alana, is Julieta a Capricorn? Because she is giving the same Capricorn energy that I give out and I’m here for it.

Ramon was so hot and sweet that it made everything that steamier. Their storyline was so entertaining with the family dynamic adding the right amount of emotion needed.

I had such a great time reading the Chicano Activism included along with the food and traditions wrapped in a great Mexican love story that I enjoyed. I cannot wait to read this next book in this series.
