Synopsis:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Lucy Score returns to Knockemout, Virginia, following fan-favorite Things We Never Got Over with Knox's brother Nash's story.

Nash Morgan was always known as the good Morgan brother, with a smile and a wink for everyone. But now, this chief of police is recovering from being shot and his Southern charm has been overshadowed by panic attacks and nightmares. He feels like a broody shell of the man he once was. Nash isn't about to let anyone in his life know he's struggling. But his new next-door neighbor, smart and sexy Lina, sees his shadows. As a rule, she's not a fan of physical contact unless she initiates it, but for some reason Nash's touch is different. He feels it too. The physical connection between them is incendiary, grounding him and making her wonder if exploring it is worth the risk.

Too bad Lina's got secrets of her own, and if Nash finds out the real reason, she's in town, he'll never forgive her. Besides, she doesn't do relationships. Ever. A hot, short-term fling with a local cop? Absolutely. Sign her up. A relationship with a man who expects her to plant roots? No freaking way. Once she gets what she's after, she has no intention of sticking around. But Knockemout has a way of getting under people's skin. And once Nash decides to make Lina his, he's not about to be dissuaded…even if it means facing the danger that nearly killed him.

Review:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One of my most anticipated releases of the year, I couldn’t wait to be back in Knockemout and check the aftermath of the drama that happened in TWNGO.

We come back to this great town with Nash and Lina’s story. Nash is hot, bad boy Knox Morgan’s brother. Instead of a bad boy, we have HOT Chief of Police for the city of Knockemout. Lina is a legit bad ass. An old friend of Knox, she appears in TWNGO and is in town on business.

Due to the drama from TWNGO that resulted in Nash getting shot, he’s been taking it easy, trying to recover. What others don’t know is that his mental health has taken a downfall.

Downfall, that is, until he gets a sexy new neighbor in Lina. Lina is in town to do a job. She can’t let anything, or ANYONE distract her.

The instant connection between these 2 was so obvious, even if Lina was trying to deny it.

Who can resist sexy Nash Morgan and that butt in the hot police uniform??

Along with getting to witness Nash and Lina fight their connection, we get peels into How Knox, Naomi and Waylay are doing, which I love.

What I really admired is how Lina really helped Nash control his panic attacks and mental health. With Lina’s past, she knows how it feels to not have control of your own body.

Speaking of Lina’s past, her backstory touched my heart, deeply. Her story resonated with me because just a few weeks prior to reading, we as a nation, witnessed the scary collapse of Damar Hamlin on Monday Night Football.

Lina had a very similar experience. Her vulnerability with Nash about her last was beautiful, especially since she hadn’t really told anyone before.

Once they couldn’t resist anymore, their romance was HOT!! So hottt!! It did not disappoint.

One of the plot twists I loved most was the suspensefulNess (is that a word?) of the storyline of Duncan Hugo that continued from TWNGO. They were so bad ass and k couldn’t get enough.

At the end, I legit was sobbing, like “CAN’T CONTROL MY TEARS” bawling. The beautiful scenes of Knox and Naomi’s wedding were perfect, and I can promise you, there’s not going to be a dry seat in the house after reading this book.

I cannot wait to dig into this group and town once more with Book 3 that Lucy just announced!!

READ THIS SERIES!!! You won’t be sorry.
