“Her best thriller yet.” —Harlan Coben, New York Times bestselling author

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Then She Was Gone comes another riveting work of psychological suspense about a beautiful young couple’s disappearance on a gorgeous summer night, and the mother who will never give up trying to find them...

On a beautiful summer night in a charming English suburb, a young woman and her boyfriend disappear after partying at the massive country estate of a new college friend.

One year later, a writer moves into a cottage on the edge of the woods that border the same estate. Known locally as the Dark Place, the dense forest is the writer’s favorite area for long walks and it’s on one such walk that she stumbles upon a mysterious note that simply reads, “DIG HERE.”

Could this be a clue towards what has happened to the missing young couple? And what exactly is buried in this haunted ground?

With her signature “rich, dark, and intricately twisted” (Ruth Ware, New York Times bestselling author) prose, Lisa Jewell has crafted a dazzling work of suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final page.

MY RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

REVIEW

Like straight out of today’s headlines, a young English couple disappear after spending an evening out and later at a party at a massive country estate.

The Night She Disappeared is told through alternating timelines and multiple POVs. Present day, it has been more than a year since the young cuarenta, Tallulah and Zach, have gone missing. Everyone around Tallulah’s mother, Kim, think they ran away from their responsibilities of their 1 year old little boy. Deep down, Kim KNOWS this is not true.

Present day, Sophie moves into a cottage nearby with her boyfriend and clues about the case start appear and it seems like the solving the case is in sight.

While this book started very slow, when everything starts coming together, we get hit with twist and turn from every direction. Being told in multiple POV, the story catch’s you and leaves you wanting more after each chapter, which are short, which I enjoy. The atmosphere this book provides is very dark and creepy which is perfect for the setting and thrills this story ends up with.

Lisa Jewell has solidified her place in being an auto read/buy for me.
